The thickness of the mats varies according to the thinness or thickness of the straw from which it is made. Straw weaving, which has existed since the Neolithic age, is one of our handicrafts that took place in the history of the Turks and continues to exist in rural areas today. The art of wicker, obtained from the plant, also known as wicker grass, has become a profession for people in some rural areas and has also contributed to the family economy.
